Howdy ya’ll, it’s Jamie Mueller of Sunflower Quilts back with a quick and fun project just in time for Christmas. My niece asked me to help her make something for her best friends for Christmas and she thought a fleece blanket. I helped her appliqué her friends names to personalize them a little and make them extra special with some Heatnbond® Lite Fusible Adhesive! These personalized blankets are a great gift idea for anyone on your list: family, friends, assistants, teachers, etc! You have plenty of time to whip these up in time for Christmas!
Personalized Blanket with Heat N Bond®
Project Supplies:
Fleece blanket (make your own or I bought mine from IKEA for $3.99 called Polarvide)
Fabric Scraps for applique
Heat N Bond® Lite Fusible Adhesive
Matching Thread and sewing machine
Project Directions:
- Fuse HeatnBond® lite to the WRONG side of the fabric scraps.
- Trace letters or design onto the HeatnBond side of fabric. *Remember if you’re writing letters to trace them backwards so that they read the correct way when you’re ready to appliqué!
- Cut out letters or design.
- Fuse letters or design onto fleece blanket where desired.
- Using your favorite appliqué stitch on your machine, stitch around letters or design to secure in place.
- Enjoy your blanket!
