Hello Friends!

I can’t believe we are so close to February already and I’ve been thinking all the heart things! I’ve got the absolute easiest project for you today that you can embellish as much or as little as you’d like!  It requires very little fabric and just a few simple supplies!

Supplies:

Instructions:

Once you’ve printed your heart pattern and gathered your supplies you are ready to get started!

Cut out your two paper heart patterns; large and small.  Iron your fabric scraps until there are no wrinkles.  Lightly spray the back of the paper patterns with Spraynbond Adhesive.  Lay pattern for the large heart on the back of a solid fabric.  Cut around the pattern.  You will need to do this twice so that you have two large hearts.   Do the same with the smaller heart pattern and place on the back of the contrasting print fabric.  You will only need to cut one small heart.

Using your small heart pattern, cut one heart from the HeatnBond Adhesive.   Iron it to the back of the small fabric heart.  Remove the paper backing and iron the fabric heart to the center of one of the large fabric hearts.

You now have a few options for permanently attaching your small heart to the large one.  You can machine sew around the heart with a simple straight stitch, or machine sew a decorative stitch around the edge.  Or you can hand sew a buttonhole stitch.  I enjoyed the process of trying different methods.  Embellish by adding buttons or trim of choice.  (Or nothing at all!)

Lay the large hearts right sides together and sew a 1/4″ seam all the way around the heart, leaving an opening of about 2 inches.  Clip the center point of the heart and turn it right sides out through the opening.  Stuff your heart with polyfill stuffing and close up your seam with with a simple hidden hand ladder stitch.

And you have the most beautiful stuffed valentine!  These are adorable in a bowl for decorating or you can gift them to a friend along with a sweet valentine card.

Happy Valentines Day friends!
