It’s Amanda from Jedi Craft Girl and I am thrilled to be here at Therm O Web sharing my love for cats!  Did you know that the PetSmart Charities find homes for more than 400,000 dogs and cats each year?  They invest in local animal rescue charities so they can save lives of dogs and cats in your community.  My heart wishes I could personally save all the cats out there but I think there are laws about how many cats you can have in your home 🙂

I created this cat love pillow for all the cat lovers and cat rescuers out there.  The fabrics are from Riley Blake Designs.

Supplies:
Heat n Bond® EZ Print Lite Sheets

Small pieces of fabric for applique

Pillow form, 16″

half yard of fabric for pillow

Zipper

I love HeatnBond® EZ print sheets because it saves time because you don’t have to trace all the images.  Print the cat image twice on the EZ print sheets.

On the first sheet, iron it to the wrong side of the cat fabric.  Cut around the cat only.

On the second copy, roughly cut around all the accent applique shapes, peel off the backing paper, and press them to the wrong side of the desired fabrics.  For the heart, I drew it out of the remaining scraps.

Cut (2) 16″ x 16″ squares for the pillow.  One is the front and one is the back.  On the front piece, position the cat and all the accent applique pieces.  Press in place.IMG_4579

With black thread outline stitch around each piece two times.  Don’t you just love how this makes the kitty pop and gives him a whimsical feel?

Finish the pillow as desired.  I always put a zipper in the back of mine.  Click here for those instructions.

I hope you love this sweet little kitty pillow!  You could stuff some catnip inside so your cat will love it!
