Blessed

Spring is right around the corner and with it comes a reawakening. There is something about this sense of renewal that freshens my soul and brightening my spirit. It is like everything is fresh and new again. The flowers come alive and the birds and bunnies come out to play. So I wanted to create a piece that would bring this feeling, no matter the weather outside.

To start this piece I first painted the wooden sign brown and splattered it with black black. I also painted the wooden word ‘blessed’ with gold paint. Everything was dried with a heat gun. Then using a paint brush I applied “iCraft Transfer Gel Duo” and after it was tacky to the touch I laid a piece of “Brutus Monroe Foil Transfer Sheets, Gold Static” and rubbed it just with my index finger. This made the foil attach, but with more of a distressed look so that it wasn’t too perfect.

Then I took my Misti stamping platform and stamped out the “Brutus Monroe Sophisticated Spring 6×8 Stamp Set” with “Brutus Monroe Raven Detail Ink” onto “Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets, White Latte”. I repeated with process with the flowers from the “Brutus Monroe Lovely Lillies 6×8 Stamp Set”. Lastly stamping out the leaves from this last set onto “Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets, Green Envy”. I stamped each stamp about three times.

Next I die cut out the flocked stamped with their coordinating die set. To make sure nothing shifted I used a piece of the “iCraft Pixie Tape”.

To assemble everything I first put down my “blessed” word using “iCraft Ultra Bond Clear Adhesive”. To attach the flowers I used this same adhesive and also “iCraft 3D Foam Tape Jumbo Roll (White) 1/16 Thick x108 ft” when I wanted a layered look.

Overall this piece came out how I wanted it to. And best of all it will be the perfect decor piece to remind me of those spring days, even if the weather outside doesn’t match.
