Hi!  It’s Jen Belnap from The Smitten Chicken.  I’m stopping by today to share a new twist on a quilt panel…a puzzle!  How curious!  I thought this was a fun way to play with a quilt panel.  Plus I wanted something for my kids.  They are always trying to play with my fabric.  And now they have a fabric puzzle.  Would you like to make one with me?

Supplies you will need:

HeatnBond Ultrahold Iron-on Adhesive

Oliso Iron

Down the Rabbit Hole Quilt Panel

Felt

Scissors

First, press the Ultrahold HeatnBond to the wrong side of the quilt panel.  Since the panel is wider than the HeatnBond you will need to cut a couple of sheets of the HeatnBond.  Press using the manufacture’s instructions.  Then peel off the paper backing from the HeatnBond.

Next, press the felt to the back of the HeatnBond.  Tip:  Press from the fabric side, not the felt side.  The felt is too thick and doesn’t adhere as good as the fabric side does!

Then take a deep breath and CUT!!!  This is the hardest part, but totally worth it.  My kids were so excited to see the puzzle pieces start to take shape.  You can use an air erase marker if you want to lay out your puzzle lines.  Or you can just go for it!

Now our puzzle pieces are all cut out!

I also made a simple drawstring bag to hold all of our puzzles.  If you would like the FREE pattern for the drawstring, you can get it here.

Thanks for stopping by!  If you would like to see more of what I am up to, you can check out my blog, follow me on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or subscribe to my YouTube Channel.

Chirp Out!

Jen
