Always Be A Dreamer Plaque Instructions

Paint a piece of watercolour or mixed media paper with green and blue watercolour paints in a random abstract style, adding clean water so that the paints move and blend into each other.  If you don’t have watercolour paint you could also use water-reactive inks or even a piece of abstract printed scrapbook paper.

Let the paint dry thoroughly and then stencil the dragonflies with Gina K. Designs White Glitz Glitter Gel with your Stencil Pal.  Place the dragonflies randomly across the page, letting them ‘fly’ off the edges.  Set the background aside to let the Glitz Glitter Gel dry.

Apply Prince Periwinkle and Enchanted Rose foil to pieces of Deco Foil Toner Sheet and run them through your pre-heated laminator.  Die-cut three butterflies from the foiled Toner Sheets, one large Detailed Butterfly, and two of the Mini Detailed Butterflies.  Die-cut the overlay pieces from white cardstock and apply them to the foiled butterflies.  Hint: back your white cardstock with iCraft Easy-Cut Adhesive Sheets before die cutting the overlays so you can easily and cleanly adhere to the intricate overlays onto your foiled butterflies.

Paint another piece of watercolour or mixed media paper with watercolour paint in shades of purple and pink.  Let dry completely and then stamp your sentiment onto the watercoloured paper with black ink and clear emboss.

Glitz Glitter Gel

Cut the Glitz Glitter Gel stenciled background down to size (the size of your background will depend upon the size of your butterfly die cuts, mine ended up being about 5 1/4″ x 6 3/4″).  Foil a piece of Deco Foil PeelnStick Toner Sheet with Pink Quartz foil and adhere the stenciled background onto it with 1/2″ Easy Tear tape and your Memory XL Tape Runner, leaving a scant 1/8 to 1/4″ reveal on all sides.  Choose a piece of coordinating scrapbook paper from your stash and adhere the assembly onto it by peeling the backing paper off of the PeelnStick Toner Sheet, leaving about a 1/2″ reveal on all sides.

Trim your stamped sentiment down to size and adhere it to the stenciled background with Gina K. Designs White Foam Squares.  Adhere the butterflies here and there with the Foam Squares as well, add a hanger or an easel stand to the back of your plaque for display and you are done!

Here are a few closeups of the finished Always Be A Dreamer plaque.  I love how the white Glitz Glitter Gel looks on the watercoloured background, diamond dragonflies!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and be sure to come back all this week to see what the rest of the Design Team creates with all of those fabulous Glitz Glitter Gels!  Happy creating,

Deb xo
