Spring into Action Scrapbook Layout

by Jessica Michaels

Hello everyone! Jessica here with a layout for Spring Bunnies Week! While spring isn’t my favorite season, I do enjoy seeing it come because then I know summer is near. My boys love to make spring memories like going to parks to play, which is what this layout is documenting! Read on to see how this came together or grab the link to the video below!

I started this layout by pulling out the woodgrain paper by Paper Rose. I then grabbed my Simple Stories Bloom and Grow collection as it is made for springtime memories! I reached for the orange patterned paper and laid it over my wood paper in a triangle shape, distressing the edges first, and adhering with easy tear tape. I cut off the excess from the back. I then laid my orange paper over the triangle I created to get another the same size and shape to lay on the bottom. I distressed those edges as well, adhered with more easy tear tape, and then cut the extra little piece off as I staggered it so some of it did overhang on the right side. Once I trimmed that off, I went to work on my cutfile.

I cut my cutfile(by Peartree Cutfiles)out of the Peel N’ Stick Toner Sheet on my electronic cutting machine on the Posterboard+ setting, which I have set to cut twice since the toner sheets are quite thick. On this setting it will cut through the backing and everything so you can easily peel the entire file off while leaving all layers in tact. Since I don’t want to peel my backing off before I foil it, this is important to me to leave all the layers together. The toner sheets come with a craft and carrier sheet to use, which I’ve pulled out and sandwiched the peel and stick toner sheet cutfile pieces, and a sheet of Brilliant Blue Gina K Fancy Foils and ran through my hot laminator. Once that came out, the foil was adhered to my cutfile and is so beautiful and sparkly. I then backed my cutfile with a blue patterned paper from PhotoPlay Paper Go Outside and Play collection, and a paper from the Simple Stories Bloom and Grow collection(see my video below for backing tips).

Next I layered my photos with papers from the SS Bloom and Grow collection and then embellished with that same collection just adding bits here and there.

Lastly, I added some sequins to my letters using both Nuvo glue and Thermoweb’s Ultrabond Liquid Adhesive. I wanted to conduct a little experiment to compare the two adhesives and how well they hold the sequins and I will say they both dried clear, were easy to work with, and seem to both hold up very well.
