Alicia here again from Sew What Alicia. Being a procrastinator is in my DNA, so I am the queen of quick and easy last minute projects. This no sew quick hem tape heart heat pack is the perfect last minute gift for you to throw together for your loved ones!
Quick Hem Tape Heart Heat Packs
Supplies:
HeatnBond Super Weight Hem Tape
10″ Precut Square (Moda “Just Another Walk in the Woods”)
Rice or Flax Seed
Dried Lavendar Buds
Instructions:
Grab your 10″ square and fold it in half. Draw half of a heart onto the fabric. Then using your fabric scissors cut around the image, leaving the fold uncut.
Mark a space where you will fill the heart.
Now flip the heart open. Cut two pieces of hem tape. You will cut the first piece with a point at the end to fit into the bottom point of the heart.
The second piece will need to be long enough to curve around the upper half of the heart. Iron the hem tape into place, leaving the marked area open.
Now fill the heart with flax seed or rice and a tablespoon of dried lavender.
Cut one more strip of hem tape to close the last edge of the heart. Iron it in place. Make two to complete the heart! You can microwave this pack for 30 seconds for a heat pack or put it in the freezer to serve as a cold pack.
