It’s Julia from Inflorescence Designs! I’m so joyful you are visiting today. For today’s tutorial, I am going to show you how to make a beautiful Lacy Heart Table Topper.
Follow the instructions below and use any shape for yearlong decor!
Lacy Heart Table Topper
Supplies:
- Stitchnsew Fleece: 20″ x 20″
- HeatnBond Lite Fusible Adhesive
- SpraynBond Fabric Stiffener
- Pressing Paper
- Heart template
- Assorted fabrics: Island Batik Rollin’ Round Collection by Kathy Engle
- Circle Dots (Red Burgandy) Available February 2024
- Circle Dots (Purple Boysenberry) Available February 2024
- Gears (Multi Purple Burgundy Gold) Available February 2024
- Geometric Flower (Multi Purple Burgundy Gold) Available February 2024
- Assorted Island Batik Fabrics from Stash Builders
- Oliso Iron
- Paint Brush
- Basic Sewing Notions
Instructions:
Begin by…
Fuse HeatnBond Lite to the wrong side of your fabric. Print and cut out heart templates. If making the exact same design pictured, you will need to cut out 7 LARGE, 6 MEDIUM and 11 SMALL hearts.
Next…
Arrange your hearts on the StitchnSew Fleece. Peel the backing off each heart and press with an iron to fuse. Then, embroider each heart. Once all your hearts are sewn to the fleece, carefully cut out the negative space and around the entire piece.
Then…
Paint the fleece edges with SpraynBond Fabric Stiffener spray.
Finally…
Press the entire piece using pressing paper.
