Hello Helper Scrapbook Layout

by Jessica Michaels

Hello everyone! Jessica here with a layout featuring Easy Cut Adhesive and Deco Foils to document some photos of my son helping daddy build a garage! He loved handing him tools and pretending he was helping build too! Oliver was just over a year old at this point, he was so little and he’s five now and still always willing to lend a hand!

I started this layout by pulling out a sheet of smooth white cardstock by Park Lane. I then used my mini Brayer and Shimmerz paints to add some mixed media to my background, drying with my heat gun. I then added some stenciling with the acorn lane stencil and Dried Marigold distress oxide and my blending brush over my mixed media section.

While that was drying, I grabbed my Acorn Lane kit by Simple Stories and began matting my photos with white cardstock, and then a couple patterns from the collection. I used the Memory XL Tape runner to adhere the layers. I love how it fits in my hand nicely and is easy to refill when it finally runs out! I distressed the edges of my photos and cut a tab pocket with my Elle’s Studio dies to go behind my photos and stick out on the right side.

I then began prepping my foil accents by adhering some Easy Cut Adhesive to a sheet of white cardstock and then die cut a bunch of leaves from my Hero Arts dies and my manual die cutting machine. Once the shapes were cut, I peeled the other backing off the Easy Cut Adhesive and placed that down on the silver side of three different foil colors. I then trimmed off the excess foil, sandwiched between a craft and carrier sheet, and ran through my hot laminator to transfer the foil. When I pulled them out a moment later, my layout was ready to build after peeling the leaves off the foil.

I placed my photos down with my Tape Runner and added a few stickers from the collection around them. I also added a few die cuts. I began layering those beautiful foiled leaves at the top and bottom of my photos and popped a couple embellishments up with some Gina K Foam squares.

I also added some beautiful sequins by Spiegelmom Scraps using the UltraBond Liquid Adhesive, which dries clear and goes on so smooth!

I added a bunch of wordy bits, some stamped stitches, and popped my title down to finish this one off! I just love how this fall layout came together so quickly using those foiled leaves! I have a full process video on YouTube if you’d like to watch!
