Galaxy Foil-Mates Cards with Gina K. Designs & Therm O Web

Foil-Mates are great for backgrounds and you will be able to get two A2 pieces from one sheet, which is perfect to create 2 cards. All you need to do is cut one sheet in half using a paper trimmer. Make sure that each background piece you cut from your Foil-Mates Background is 4.25 by 5.5 inches.

Step 1. Cover the Foil-Mates card panel with a piece of Sparkling Silver Fancy Foil. Wrap it with parchment paper and run it through the laminator.

Step 2. Apply the first ink color on 3 different spots of the card panel using a sponge applicator.

Step 3. Next apply your second ink color, again on 3 different spots of your card panel.

Step 4. Finally apply black ink on the rest of the card panel, making sure to blend all the different ink layers to create a galaxy look.

Step 5. Mist some water on the card panel and let it sit for a moment, then use a paper towel to dry any excess water.

Step 6. Splatter white acrylic paint on the background. I used a Sharpie pen in this case but any white opaque paint will do.

Step 7. Cut one of the sentiments from the True Friend Foil-Mates pack using a Double Stitch Design Circle Die (the medium size in the set). I thought the sentiment “Good friends are like Stars” was perfect for this card design so I do recommend you use that one in particular!

Once cut, cover the Foil-Mates sentiment with Sparkling Silver Fancy Foil and run it through the laminator.

Step 8. Apply inks to the Foil-Mates sentiment just as you did for the background.

Step 9. To put together the card, apply adhesive to the back of the panel using Sticky Dot Runner.

Step 10. Adhere the panel to a card base, slanting it a bit.

Step 11. Add 3D Zots to the back of your Foil-Mates sentiment.

Step 12. Attach the sentiment to the center of your card… And you’re done!

I think these cards would work great for male friends on Valentine’s, don’t you think? Often times we don’t even know where to start when it comes to masculine cards, so I’m so happy I created these since I’m usually all for feminine designs.
