It’s Gracie Chavez and I’m back with a fun and colorful cardmaking idea for Summer. I love making foiled backgrounds for cards and this time I used a leaf die -from the new StampnFoil Where Flowers Bloom set by Gina K. Designs for Therm O Web- to create a Summer pattern that’s easy to put together. Scroll down to follow my step by step tutorial and learn how to duplicate these yourself!

Step 1. Foil a sheet from the Where’s The Party? Foil-Mates Background covering it with Brilliant Blue Gina K. Designs Fancy Foil and running it through a laminator. As an option, you can use different Fancy Foil colors for these backgrounds. (Foil colors used for this project: Brilliant Blue, Dazzling Orange and Glittering Green and Twinkling Pink.)

Step 2. Cut leaves from the foiled background using the StampnFoil Die Set Where Flowers Bloom and a die cutting machine.

Step 3. Ink each foiled leaf die cut using Gina K. Designs Premium Dye Ink in different colors. (Ink colors used for this project: Passionate Pink, Turquoise Sea, Sweet Mango, Jelly Bean Green.)

Step 4. Prepare all your leaves adding a piece of Easy Tear Tape to the back.

Step 5. Cut a different pattern from the Where’s The Party? Foil-Mates Background set in half to create a background for an A2 card and foil it with a piece of Dazzling Orange Fancy Foil using a laminator.

Step 6. Adhere different colors of leaves to the foiled background using Easy Tear Tape. Cut any pieces of leaves that hang outside of the background.

Step 7. Foil a Foil-Mates sentiment from the set True Friend using Brilliant Blue Fancy Foil and cut it using a Double Stitch Design rectangle die. Also cut a matting layer for it using a slightly larger Single Stitch Design rectangle die.

Step 8. Finally, adhere all the pieces using Easy Tear Tape to a Turquoise Sea card base.

This technique is perfect for last minute cards and also for those cards you’d like to mass produce… You can work on it by stages, cutting all the leaves at once, then inking them and so on! Hope you find this tutorial useful.

That’s all from me today! For more creative ideas using Gina K. Designs amazing new line make sure to subscribe to Therm O Web’s newsletter and become a follower on social media! Until next time.
