Dragon’s Crest

Ever since I was a little child I loved anything with dragons. I didn’t care if they were scary or cute, just long as they were dragons. I wanted to make my own crest to hang up in my craft room.

To start this project I ran the “Deco Foil Toner Card Fronts – Mod Dots” through my laminator using the “Deco Foil Transfer Sheets – Rose Gold” a few times. This allowed the foil to attach to the card fronts where the black marks are on two of the card fronts.

Next using “iCraft UltraBond Permanent Dries Clear Adhesive” I spread on both pieces that looked like a crest from the “Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz EtCetera – Facades Thickboard”, I like to wait 15-30 seconds before I attach any paper, this allows the tackiness from the glue to start to set. Next I attached my two foiled card fronts to the main crest. Then I attached the “Deco Foil Plush Paper – Teal Waters” to the circle inner piece. I used a utility knife that I borrowed from a friend, which wasn’t too great and left a jagged edge which made the piece look a little distressed.

Then using a yellow, two teals and dark blue inks from Pink Fresh and “Brutus Monroe Blending Brushes” I ink blended on the “Deco Foil Toner Card Fronts – Mod Dots”. I added the dark blue around both pieces. Next I embossed the “Brutus Monroe Simple Blend – Dragon Flight” with “Brutus Monroe Embossing Powder” and “Brutus Monroe Metallic Embossing Powder | Gilded” on the center circle.

To finish the piece off I add two flowers with the “iCraft UltraBond Permanent Dries Clear Adhesive” and put the finished piece back in the center of the crest. I think this is the perfect companion piece to my mirror I had done already.
