Hi everyone!
I wanted to share a quick little tutorial with you today using the new Heat N Bond® Soft Stretch to create an applique headband. I bought a whole bunch of this knit material on clearance and haven’t had much experience with knits, so I wanted to do a simple project to get the hang of it.
Applique a Cute Headband with HeatNBond® Soft Stretch
Let’s get started…. first I gathered my supplies of HeatnBond® Soft Stretch Iron-On Fusible Adhesive in Lite, my main headband material (green knit), and a piece of accent knit material that I just cut from an old t shirt.
First step was I ironed a piece of Heat N Bond® Soft Stretch Lite to the back side of my accent piece.
Then i traced some heart shapes and cut them out.
For the rest of my pieces, I cut those from a pattern that I found HERE.
Next, I peeled the paper off the back, and placed my hearts on my headband and ironed them on. I purposely wanted the hearts to be on one side of the headband.
I followed the directions for assembly as per the pattern blog HERE and hand this headband whipped up in less than 30 minutes from start to finish!
It fits my daughter pretty good, but is a tad bit too big, but it fits me perfectly! I would just shrink the pattern a bit for a kids sized one!
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial for a quick and easy applique headband with Heatnbond® Soft Stretch!
