Hello and welcome!
It’s Julia from Inflorescence Designs! I’m so joyful you are visiting today.
To make this project, you will need to download the quilt block pattern from Thermoweb’s Crafting Facebook page called Therm O Web Craft Room. There you will find not only this fun quilt block pattern but also other FREE blocks that are published monthly as part of a block-of-the-month feature. This pattern is from the June 2023 Block of the Month.

Instructions:
Begin by…
Make (5) 12 1/2″ Patriotic Love Quilt blocks. Be sure to read the entire PDF instructions before beginning. There are tips and suggestions for cutting and piecing when making multiple blocks as well as keeping scraps to make the pinwheels.
Next…
Sew the large bottom trimmed corners from your Patriotic Love blocks together to create 8 half square triangles. (2 sets will not be used and can be discarded or used in another project). Trim to 4″ square.
Then…
Sew together the half square triangles to create 2 pinwheel blocks measuring 7 1/2″ square. Next, add the (4) 3″ x 7 1/2″ background fabric to the top and bottom of the pinwheel blocks.
Deco Foil Adhesive:
Cut out the star shape and trace it onto the Deco Foil Hot Melt Adhesive. Cut out and arrange on your quilt block.
Next…
Press with an iron on the medium heat setting for 30 seconds. Use the pressing paper provided. Let cool completely before moving onto the next step.
Continue by…
Remove the paper backing and place the Deco Foil Transfer Sheet on top the Hot Melt Adhesive. Press with an iron on the medium heat setting for 30-40 seconds. Use the pressing paper provided. Let cool completely before moving onto the next step.
Then…
Once cooled, peel off the Deco Foil Transfer Sheets carefully. Once all the Deco Foil has been adhered, assemble the table runner. The Patriotic Love blocks are sewn alternating up and down with the pinwheel block on either side of the runner. Once the blocks are sewn together, add the top and side borders of the runner.
**Important Tip: Once the Deco Foil is on your fabric, DO NOT let the iron touch that area. Be mindful of where you are pressing when sewing the blocks and borders on. You can also wait to add the Deco Foil once the top is assembled. I suggest not adding after quilting. The Hot melt adhesive needs a flat surface to properly adhere.
Next…
Baste the runner front, batting and backing together using SpraynBond Basting Spray. Once basted, quilt using your preferred method. I suggest not quilting over the Deco Foil. I quilted around the hearts and only on the background so as to make the hearts POP! Once quilted, trim and bind your table runner.
Finished!
