Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by.  Deb Riddell here with you today to share a fun home decor project created with the brand new Brutus Monroe Deco Foil releases.

Tiny Tea Light Houses With Deco Foil And Brutus Monroe

These Tiny Tea Light Houses were created with the clear and white Brush Strokes, Coffee Rings and Distressed Circles Designer Toner Sheets and the Dry Brush, Sunrise and Tide Pool Transfer Sheets.

These were so much fun to make and I love how they look lit up with the battery operated votive candles inside them.  You could make a whole little village to sit on your table or mantel or what a fun decorating idea for an outdoor barbecue on a warm summer’s evening!

Tiny Tea Light Houses instructions:

Pre-heat your foil laminator and foil the Coffee Rings White Designer Toner Sheet with Sunrise Foil.  Die cut the largest Tiny House twice from the foiled Toner Sheet, once for the front of the house and once for the back.  Ink the house die cuts inside and out with beige water reactive ink, sprinkling lightly with water if desired for a little interest.

Die cut an opening in the front of the house with the smallest Gina K. Designs Nested Rectangle Die.  Cut two strips of foiled toner sheet and adhere them to the sides of the Tiny House die cuts with iCraft SuperTape to make your house wide enough to accommodate the battery operated votive candle (I added a 3/8″ strip to both the front and back die cuts to accommodate the size of votive I used).

Foil a piece of Clear Coffee Rings Designer Toner Sheet with the Sunrise Foil.  Trim to size and adhere the foiled Clear Toner Sheet to the inside of the die cut opening with iCraft SuperTape and then adhere the front and the back pieces of the Tiny House together with SuperTape.

Having made the Tiny House wider to accommodate the votive candle, the die cut roof piece will not be wide enough so either adhere two of the die cut roof pieces together to make the roof or cut a piece of foiled toner sheet to 2″ x 5″ and score in the middle to form the roof.  Adhere the roof to the top of the Tiny House with iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive and set aside to dry.

Repeat the same process to make another large Tiny House, this time using the Brush Strokes White and Clear Toner Sheets and the Dry Brush foil.  Since both the Brush Strokes Toner Sheet and Dry Brush foil have directional patterns, make sure that your foil is applied longitudinally on the Toner Sheet and that the ‘drops’ on the Brush Strokes Toner Sheets are oriented towards the bottom of your Tiny House when you die cut them.  Ink this Tiny House with a rust coloured ink, sprinkling with water again if desired and assemble in the same manner as for the Coffee Circles tiny house.

Finally, die cut the small Tiny House from the Distressed Circles Designer Toner Sheet that has been foiled with Tide Pool foil.  Ink the die cut with a grey blue ink.  Die cut the opening in this small house with the heart from Gina K. Design’s Large Circle die set.

Foil a piece of Clear Distressed Circles Designer Toner Sheet with the Tide Pool foil and insert it into the heart opening.  Assemble the small Tiny House and adhere the roof with iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive.

Once all of the houses have been assembled, add a line of Stickles Glitter Glue just below the eaves to cover any gaps or visible adhesive.  I used a copper glitter glue on the Coffee Rings house, a silver glitter glue on the Distressed Circles house and Platinum Stickles on the Brush Strokes house.  Add a bit of interest to the back of the houses by foiling Deco Foil Toner Sheet with each of the negative image foils you have left over after foiling the houses.  Die cut two flowers from the Sunrise foiled Toner Sheet and adhere them to the back of the Coffee Circles house, die cut a heart with Gina K. Designs Large Circle Die Set from the Tide Pool Toner Sheet and add it to the back of the Distressed Circles house and die cut three stars with Gina K. Designs Large Rectangle Die Set and add them to the back of the Brush Strokes house.

Insert battery operated votive candles into each of your tiny foiled houses and you are done!  Here are some close ups of the finished houses.

Hope that you’ve enjoyed seeing how they came together and that you’ve been inspired to play with the new Brutus Monroe Deco Foil releases too, happy creating everyone!
