Hello! It’s Andrea with you today sharing two cards featuring those adorable gnomes by Gina K. Designs for our Giving Thanks Week!
Thankful Gnome Cards
The Gnome Festive Fall Add-on StampNStencil makes it so easy to take these cute fellas from Christmas to fall. My favorite addition with this kit is the ability to give the gnome’s hands to hold various objects (As an avid coffee drinker, the coffee cup is my favorite!).
Flocked Beards
For a bit of texture, I decided to create the gnomes’ beards from White Latte Flock. First, I adhered a piece of the flock to white cardstock with the Memory Tape Runner XL. The cardstock gives the flock a bit more stability. After die-cutting the beards, I gently sponged gray ink on the edges for some dimension.
Foiled Hats
There are so many great patterns in the Laura Kelly Toner Sheets! For my cards, I chose the Dauntless Diamonds, Sprinkled Stripes, and Sweet Swirls sheets. Using my laminator, I foiled the toner sheets with Gina K. Designs Fancy Foils in Glittering Green, Glimmering Gold, and Dazzling Orange. After die-cutting the hats, I colored them with Distress Oxides and gently buffed the color from the foiled areas with a towel.
Thankful for My Gnomies
My first card measures 5″x7″ and was inspired by an image I saw on Pinterest. Using the techniques above, I created the gnomes’ beards and hats and die-cut the other elements from colored cardstock. I added a little shading to the noses and hands with Copics and stamped the coordinating detail images for the pumpkin and acorn. I assembled each gnome with the UltraBond Adhesive Pen.
I combined sentiments from each gnome stamp set, masking the words I wanted to omit and added: “for my” with an alphabet stamp from my stash. Using a stencil and gray ink, I blended the background for my gnomes.
I adhered the white panel to a black mat with Easy-Tear Tape and used the same adhesive to attach the black panel to a white card. I popped up the gnomes with 3D White Foam Squares, placing a double layer behind the center gnome.
Thankful & Blessed
For this cute gnome, I used the Dauntless Diamonds Toner Sheet with Glimmering Gold Fancy Foil. I colored his hat with a combination of Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress Oxides and assembled him with the UltraBond Adhesive Pen.
For my background, I blended a die-cut panel of white cardstock with Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn distress inks and stamped a sentiment from the Festive Fall Add-on set. To help build the scene, I die-cut a fence with Newton’s Nook Designs’ Fence Border Die and some pumpkins and leaves with Whimsy Stamps’ Build-a-Pumpkin Patch Dies.
After adhering the fence to my background with the UltraBond Adhesive Pen, I layered on the pumpkins. I popped up the gnome with 3D White Foam Squares and tucked in the leaves, affixing them with the pen. Finally, I attached the panel to a white card with the Easy-Tear Tape.
