Sunshine
By: Heather Collins
My kids wanted to see the beach, so last summer we surprised them by taking them to Oceancity, Maryland to kick off the first few days of summer. It is a trip that I will always remember. We didn’t plan much other than just relaxing as a family on the beach. My oldest wanted to roller skate and my youngest wanted to build sandcastles and I just wanted us all to see the sunshine on the beach…pure bliss!
This is really simply project to capture this weeklong adventure. To start this project cut a piece of the “Brutus Monroe Perfect Blend Cardstock” to fit the “Ideology Unfinished Frame”. Then using blending brushes and Pink Fresh Inks I ink blended a scene using the the stencil from the “Gina K. Designs for Therm O Web Card Kit, Tropical Sunshine”. On the water’s edge I used “iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo” to create a wave.
Next using a die cutting machine I used the dies from the kit and “iCraft Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets, White Latte, Sunshine Yellow and Green Envy” to cut out different pieces from the kit. This created the title for my piece and a shadow piece and the palm trees. To make the brown trunks, I ink blended with the Pink Fresh inks. These items were attached to the piece using the “iCraft UltraBond Permanent Dries Clear Adhesive”.
To finish the piece I stamped the birds and the sailboat from the kit. This is the perfect piece to use on the mantle to remind me of those sunshine days from a wonderful vacation.
