Life is Good Scrapbook Layout

by Jessica Michaels

Hello everyone! Jessica here with a layout for Gina K week featuring fancy foils and the Peel n’ Stick Toner Sheets! I’ve chosen a sweet photo of my son and I at an amusement park were the sunshine was just peeking through the tree by us for this sunshiny layout!

Shimmerz Creameez in Daffodil and Dandy Lion, Inklingz in Miner Miner 49er

I started this layout by pulling out a sheet of Vicki Boutin Foundations Paper and cut my sun cutfile on my cutting machine with some smooth white cardstock. I used the sun only and cut the words off with my Olfa cutting knife and cutting mat and then used a pencil to trace an outline where the center of the sun was to add some mixed media to my foundations paper. I added water to the Shimmerz paints with my spray bottle and paintbrush and then painted on each color, drying with my heat tool in between layers. I also added splatters all around in a circular design by flicking my paintbrush to the layout with some paint on it.

While that was drying, I pulled out a sheet of the Peel n’ Stick toner sheet and cut it in half. I laid a sheet of Gina K Fancy Foils in Glimmering Gold on top to cover the toner and sandwiched it between the craft and carrier sheet to run through my hot laminator. Once that was out, I used the negative part of my cutfile to fussy cut the backing pieces for my sunrays in this shimmering goodness. I then adhered using the UltraBond Liquid glue and also backed the middle of my sun with a piece of patterned paper from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Sunkissed Collection. I adhered to my layout using some Easy Tear tape which is SUPER STICKY!

I backed my photo with some smooth white cardstock and then again with another patterned paper from the collection, distressing the edges with my edge distresser. If you don’t have one you can also use the edge of your scissors. I fussy cut a whole bunch of flowers from one of the papers and glued them around my photo on both sides using the UltraBond Liquid Adhesive, which dries clear. Sometimes mine does get clogged so I keep a corsage pin handy to poke the tip with and then it’s fine to use again.

I added some journaling around the inside of my son and some embellishments from the CVS collection. I then added some Catherine Pooler sequins as well!

Lastly, I added my title from the collection and a few more embellishments to finish it off! I have a process video the Thermoweb YouTube channel if you’d like to see how this came together.
