I hope that you have been following along and checking out the adorable projects made from the Summer Fun Blocks. There have been three adorable projects that can be made from these cuties. Now, it’s my turn to show you what you can use those blocks for.

Aurifil Thread
1/2 yard coordinating fabric
4 buttons
2 1/2 yards of pom poms
Camper Pillow Instructions
Step 1: Taking two of the Summer Fun blocks, with right sides together sew around the perimeter of the block leaving a small opening large enough to turn.
Step 2: Turn the block inside out and hand stitch the opening closed.
Step 3: Cut an 8 1/2″ square from the 1/2 yard of fabric. Cut out 4 – 2 1/2″ square from 5 of the Fat Eights. Yielding 20 squares.
Step 4: Cut 2 – 3 1/2″ x 18 1/2″ and 2 – 3 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ from the 1/2 yard. The remainder of the yard will be used for the pillow back.
Step 5: Sew the 2 1/2″ squares into 2 units of 4 and 2 units of 5.
Step 6: Taking the 8 1/2″ square, sew the 4 units to the top and the bottom of it.
Step 7: Take the 5 unit strips and sew to the right and left.
Step 8: Sew one 3 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ strip to the top and one to the bottom.
Step 8: Sew one 3 1/2″ x 18 1/2″ to the right and one to the left.
Step 9: Quilt as desired. Baste the Pom Pom trim around the edge. Create an envelope back and sew the front to the back. (Right sides together)
Step 10: Create buttonholes in each of the four corners of the applique square.
Step 11: Sew buttons to the pillow top.
Step 12: You are all done. Now you can reverse the top of your pillow to the applique scene that best fits your mood.
