Sew a Stylish Gracie Bow Clutch with HeatnBond Interfacing Instructions:
Sew 2 1/2″ squares together so that they are 3 squares tall. Cut a piece of fabric 3″ wide by 22″. (These just happened to be leftover from another quilting project) Fold it right sides together and sew down the long side of the strip. Turn right side out. and cut in half.
While sewing the 3 square strips together weave the strip in and out of the square. After all of the strips have been sewn together, cut the fabric even to the seam. Make a front and a back. Iron a piece of fusible fleece to the wrong side of the front and the back. Quilt the piece as desired. This clutch was quilted with Aurifil 12 wt. in #2135.
Make a bow according to the direction found HERE The size of the bow came be customized. This one was created using 2 – 3″ x 22″ pieces of fabric. Sew the center of the bow to the center of the bag front.
Make a strap and a D-Ring by cutting a piece of fabric 4″ x 18″ and adding HeatnBond Fusible Interfacing Medium Weight to the wrong side of the fabric. Fold the fabric into fourths and iron.
Top stitch along both sides of the strip. Cut off a piece of the strip that is 5″ long. This is for the D-Ring.
Sew the clutch together.
Add the bow and stitch it in the center.
Finish the clutch. To make the strap, take the leftover from cutting the D-ring strap. Fold it over the clip and sew down in place. Make sure to add enough stitches for it to be secure.
Enjoy!!
