Hello! I’m back with three cards for you and three different ways to use your used foil sheets for your backgrounds! I used an adorable set of pups from Ink Blog Shop and some really fabulous Adhesive Transfers from Therm O Web.
Here are the three backgrounds! I LOVE how they turned out!
I started this one with a great Toner Card Front from the Brutus Monroe Toner Card Fronts – Really Radiant. I grabbed a really cool used foil sheet and ran them through my laminator.
This left a cool foiled pattern on the toner numbers.
Then I ran it through a second time with a full sheet of Sweet Mango. (Don’t worry! I’ll use that one too!)
Check out that cool multicolor pattern on the numbers! And I’ll still get more uses from both sheets.
I used a sentiment from a cute MFT stamps set stamped onto a word bubble. I added the dog bed and accessories from the Ink Blog Shop set along with a couple Adhesive Transfers from the Gina K Birthday Bliss set. I LOVE adding adhesive transfers to acetate and cutting them out. I just hide my adhesive behind the foil!
Next up was this cutie patootie!
I had made this cool gel print a while ago using my Gel Press and a Miss Ink Stamps stencil. I picked out a used sheet of foil and ran it through my laminator. I used a lower setting (3) so that I wouldn’t get so much foil transferred that it covered up my paw prints. You can always run it through a second time if you want more. The older a gel print the less foil that will transfer.
You can really never be sure how much foil you’ll get, but this one came out perfectly!
I decided to add the sentiment from the Love and Kisses Adhesive Transfers onto acetate too with that gorgeous Sparkling Orange.
Perfect if you forget to add your sentiment right to your card before you start putting it together, but honestly this is my favorite way to add a sparkly sentiment…I just love how it creates a sparkly sentiment that hovers above the card.
I just add foam adhesive in thin pieces underneath the foiled areas… you can’t even see it! You can also add some clear glue behind the acetate if you don’t want it popped up. Easy peasy.
I also added a couple hearts from the Love and Kisses transfers…love it!!
And finally a fun stenciled Gel Print background with a distressed foiled look!
Sometimes I just want a light foiled look… more sparkle than bright shine. Transfer Gel Duo is perfect for this! I just add some through a stencil and let it dry for a couple hours ’til it’s tacky… and actually this one I had to leave for longer because I went for a family dinner after I applied it… but no worries!
I just applied some iridescent foil from a used sheet and used pressure with my Stencil Pal for the perfect look! (And of course I saved the sheet to use again!)
I used another sentiment from the Love and Kisses pack but this time on a strip of orange card stock.
More foam adhesive for the sentiment and most of my other pieces… it’s a good thing I can get this HUGE roll of foam adhesive from the TOW shop!
I added a set of lips to this one too… in an orange sparkle… I mean.. why not??
I had so much fun with these three cards! The colors and sparkle make me happy and I’m in love with the pups!
And I extra love using up ALL of the foil on a sheet. Also, be sure to keep those scraps because they are perfect for foiling things like those small balloons… just a strip of each of three colors and I got a multi color image with one pass through my die cutting machine!
And have fun adding your transfers to acetate! You can save packaging to do this too!
And sure, you can add it to card stock … the old fashioned way 🙂
Thank you so much for stopping today! I hope you had fun and you’ll try some of these techniques! Come again soon for more Therm O Web inspiration!
