Little Bit
by Heather Collins
I am enchanted by all things magical, big and small. Especially things having to do with the forest, fairies and woodland creatures. I have a mini fairy garden that I have been working on for the last years and I am trying to make all of the components myself using items that were once other items.
To make this magical woodland creature I started with repurposing a little doll I had found. I wanted one with big eyes and a solid frame. I removed the original hair and clothing. Then using “Paperclay”, I created a new other surface on the doll. I like this clay because when it dries light weight and it is easy to work with.

After the clay was dry I sprayed the entire body with “Brutus Monroe Wheat | Chroma Mist” and “Brutus Monroe Bark | Chroma Mist” and let these dry. Then I added brown and green paint. To add shading I dry brushed a deep dark purple on areas and also some mid browns as needed. And then let dry completely.
Next I lightly coated my creature with “iCraft Ultrabond Liquid Adhesive” and let it dry till tacky. Then I took a sheet of “Decofoil Transfer Foil Copper” all over the creature. You want to do this when the adhesive is tacky and the foil is shiny side up.
To finish the piece I took my “iCraft Ultrabond Liquid Adhesive” and just is a few areas added some and then added faux grass in mid and dark tones.
