Hello! It’s Andrea back with you today sharing a yummy Valentine card with a coordinating envelope. The new Rina K Designs Collection is perfect for Valentine’s Day with lots of fun sentiments and images, as well as delicious colors and textures. My card features the Sweet Stuff stamp and stencil.
After stamping the images from Sweet Stuff in various colors of dye ink, I added shading and depth with my Copics for an easy, no-line coloring look. I cut out the images and then added even more detail with Glitz Glitter and Metallix Gels.
Adding Glitz Glitter and Metallix Gels to Stamped Images
I applied Pixie Spray to the Sweet Stuff Detail Stencil and let it dry. After placing the stencil over my ice cream image, I spread Deco Foil Metallix Gel in Aged Copper with a palette knife. Doesn’t the gel remind you of chocolate or caramel sauce? Yum! With the same stencil, I applied Glitz Glitter Gel in Red Velvet to the cherry. I just love the shine and dimension these gels add!
Flocked Background
For that fun, textur-ific background, I used Poppin’ Pink Flock Transfer Sheets. I first applied Pixie Spray to the back of my stencil and allowed it to dry. With my Stencil Pal, I smoothed Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo over my stencil and onto white cardstock. Once the transfer gel had dried, I placed a rectangle of Poppin’ Pink Flock (fuzzy side down) over the stenciled panel and ran it through my laminator twice. If you have any excess flocking as I did, you can use a sand eraser to remove it easily.
Adding Flock to an Envelope
Using the technique outlined in the previous paragraph, I applied pink flock to the flap of my envelope. To create a single row of hearts, I used Purple Tape to mask off an area of the stencil before applying the transfer gel. I stamped a sentiment from Sweet Stuff above the hearts in Poppin’ Pink Neon Ink.
Assembling the Card
I die-cut the flocked panel and adhered it to a kraft card with the Memory Tape Runner XL. After layering my colored images together with Mixed Media Adhesive, I popped the ice cream cone onto a scalloped circle with Gina K Designs Foam Tape. Using the same foam tape, I affixed the circle to my card. I stamped a sentiment from Sweet Stuff in Poppin’ Pink Neon Ink onto a die-cut banner, which I adhered with more foam tape. Finally, I attached some pink enamel dots to my card with Mixed Media Adhesive.
