Hello Crafty Friends!!
Holiday Felt Garland
Larissa here today to share a Duo of Felt Garlands, and a Trio of Deco Foil Toner Gift Tags and Box Decorations, as part of the Benzie Design Collaboration Week!! SWOON!! If you LOVE creating with Felt like I do this is definitely a week of inspiration you won’t want to miss!!
I Started by Creating the Festive Holiday Felt Garlands!! I LOVE to Decorate my Mantel for the Holidays and thought it would be FUN to create a Duo of Felt Garlands using some of the NEW Winter Mint Benzie Felt Products!! This Color Palette is just so FRESH and BEAUTIFUL!! Not only for the Holiday but also for the Winter!! I ENJOY Decorating for the Holiday but I like using Decorations I can use for the entire Winter, that way I can get more out of them!! Let’s Get Started!!
There are 7 Colors in the NEW Winter Mint Pom Palette ~ Peppercorn, Meadow, Red, Crimson, Mint, Blush, and White!! I Divided them all and create the Color Combination that I liked!! I used a Large Needle and Threaded it with some White Twine and then added the Pom-Poms in order placing the Needle through the Center of the Pom-Poms pulling the Twine Through each one to create the sections of the Garland!!
I wanted to add some Primitive Star Cookie Cutters in between each of the Sections!! I Drilled holes into the top of each of the Cookie Cutters!!
Next, I Die Cut from some of the Moss and Fern Felt using a Sizzix Die!! I Strung 3 Leaves onto the Garland Twine and then added a Rustic Jingle Bell to the Center of the Leaves!! I repeated the Process until ALL of the Sections were finished!! The Finished Garland is 7 Sections of the Pom-Poms and 6 of Primitive Star Cookie Cutters with the Felt Holly Leaves and Jingle Bells!! (Finished Garland Measures 6 Feet)
For the Second Garland, I Cut the Winter Mint Felt Sheets into Strips measuring 1″ x 4″, being able to Cut each of the 10 Sheets into 45 pieces!! Meaning I created 450 Pieces altogether!!
Then I used a Large Needle threaded with the same White Twine to String through all of the Strips creating a FUN Garland!! I repeated the same color combination that I used on the Pom-Pom Garland in order to create a coordinating Garland and I really LOVE how it turned out!! I think I might add another set of 450 pieces to the Garland to create an even longer Garland!! (Finished Garland Measures 3.5 Feet)
Festive Gifts Tags with Felt and Foil
I wanted to create some FESTIVE Gift Tags and Boxes to give some of these BEAUTIFUL Felt Projects as Gifts!! Plus a SWEET Felted Snowman Ornament finishes off the Design!!
I started by adding some coordinating Floss to the Tops of the Felted Snowmen to create the Ornament Hangers!! SQUEAL!! I just LOVE these!! Snowmen are my FAVORITE!!
Next, I wanted to create some Felt Pine Sprigs to add to the top of the Packages for some Texture!! I Started by Cutting some of the Evergreen Felt into 1″ X 12″ Strips and then I folded the strips in half and cut them into Fringe Pieces leaving about 1/2″ at the top of the Strip!!
Once the Felt was Cut into the Fringe Strips I cut a piece of Floral Wire (about 6″)!!
Then I started wrapping the Fringe around the Floral Wire using a Hot Glue Gun to hold the Felt in place as I wrapped the Felt around the Floral Wire!!
Once it was completely wrapped this is what you end up with!! I LOVE how it looks and then I took the excess Wire and Wrapped it around my Finger creating a Circle Wire Nest and then folded it behind the backside of the Sprig!! You could Cut it off too, but I felt like this gave it some stability for when I attached it to my Packages!!
Then I took more of the Holly Leaves that I Die Cut for the Garland and created a Holly Leaf Sprigs again using Floral Wire as my Base!!
I Cut 5 Leaves using a combination of Colors again to add some interest!! I added the First Leaf to the Tip of the Wire using Hot Glue and Folding the bottom part of the Leaf to the Floral Wire!! Then I Folded all of the other leaves the same way using Hot Glue to hold them in place!!
Then I Glued them all together to create my Holly Leaf Sprig and I really LOVE the way the contrasting Colors of the Holly Leaves look against one another!!
In order to adhere them to my Packages I’m using the 3-D Zots Adhesive Dots and I placed 2 onto the back of each of the Sprigs!! (You can also see how I rolled the excess Wire and Folded it behind the Sprigs giving them more stability)
I also created a Different Leaf Sprig just to show that you DON’T have to have a Die to create a BEAUTIFUL Design!! I Cut 1.5″ x 1.5″ Squares from some Chartreuse Felt and then just rounded the edges on to of the sides to create the Leaf Shape!! I adhered them to a Piece of Floral Wire to create my Sprig just like I did for the Holly Leaf Sprigs!!
Then I created my coordinating Gift Tags!! I started with some of the Deco Foil Clear Designer Toner Sheets in Lots of Dots and Foiled it with a Piece of Deco Foil in Glass Slipper!!
Then I Die Cut it using a Paper Sweeties For You Stitched Tag Die!! I Also Die Cut a Piece of White Cardstock along with a Piece of Turquoise Cardstock in order to layer them together on my Package!!
I Created this SWEET Red Package and decided to let the Snowman Ornament Dangle down from the top of the Package!!
Again I Started with the Deco Foil Clear Designer Toner Sheets and I Foiled it with some of the Gina K. Designs Radiant Red Fancy Foil!! SWOON!! I LOVE the Glittering effect of this Foil, especially against the Matte Gift Box and the Felt Snowman!!
Then I Die Cut it using a Paper Sweeties For You Stitched Tag Die!! I Also Die Cut a Piece of White Cardstock along with a Piece of Red Cardstock in order to layer them together on my Package!!
Next is a BEAUTIFUL Pink Package!! It’s SO HARD to pick a FAVORITE!! What’s your FAVORITE Color combination!!??
Again I Started with the Deco Foil Clear Designer Toner Sheets and I Foiled it with some of the Gina K. Designs Twinkling Pink Fancy Foil!! SWOON!! I LOVE the Glittering effect of this Foil, especially against the Matte Gift Box and the Felt Snowman!!
Then I Die Cut it using a Paper Sweeties For You Stitched Tag Die!! I Also Die Cut a Piece of White Cardstock along with a Piece of Pink Cardstock in order to layer them together on my Package!!
Here the Packages are all Stacked together and ready to bring a HUGE SMILE to anyone’s Face!!
