Hello everyone, it’s Ellen here. Creating unique holiday cards is always a joy, especially with the right materials! For these three festive cards, I used Therm O Web’s Plush Papers, Toner Card Fronts, and Poly Glaze Cards to add texture, color, and that extra holiday sparkle.

I’ll walk you through the details of each material and how I incorporated them into my designs.

Materials Used:

  • Therm O Web Plush Papers: These soft, velvety papers are perfect for adding cozy, tactile elements to your cards.
How to use: These papers can be cut into shapes easily, and adding flock brings extra dimension (for sure when you add it to foam) and texture. They’re perfect for cozy elements like sleeves, trees, and soft details.
  • Toner Card Fronts/Poly Glaze Cards: These allow for easy foiling, creating beautiful, shiny backgrounds.
How to use: Preheat your laminator to ensure smooth foiling. Place your foil shiny side up on the card front, sandwich it in parchment paper, and run it through the laminator for a flawless shine.

1. Joyful Gift Card

For this card, I started with a Toner Card Front as the background, which I foiled for a shimmering look. The foiled background sets a festive tone with its delicate, shiny pattern. Using Plush Papers in different colors, I created the arms holding wrapped presents, and I flocked the details on the sleeves. This adds a soft, wintery texture that complements the foiled background. The word “Joy” was added to complete the cheerful message.

2. Noel Village Scene

This card features a cozy village scene with the word “NOEL” displayed below. Here, I used a Poly Glaze Card as the background, foiling it for a starlit sky effect. The soft, white clouds and yellow stars in the scene are made from Plush Paper with flocking for extra dimension. This card captures a calm, wintry night in the village and has a warm holiday feel thanks to the mix of texture and shine.

3. Sparkling Tree Card

For the final card, I chose a snowflake Poly Glaze Card for the background, foiling it with a cool blue for a frosty effect. I added a green Christmas tree cut from Plush Paper. The plush, soft details bring a cozy feel to this winter wonderland scene, making it a perfect card for the season. Mixing the smooth, shiny foil with the soft, fuzzy plush paper creates a beautiful contrast and elevates the design.

These holiday cards are a fun way to experiment with Therm O Web’s specialty papers and foiling techniques. Using Plush Papers, Toner Card Fronts, and Poly Glaze Cards together allows for endless creativity. The combination of textures, colors, and shine makes each card unique and gives them that handmade charm.

So, if you’re ready to make your holiday cards stand out this season, give these materials a try. Don’t be afraid to layer different textures on top of each other! Happy crafting!
