Hello and happy spring! This is Audrey Yeager, and today I am going to share with you a little tutorial on how you can spruce up your outfits for spring by accessorizing with some beautiful jewelry made out of fabric.
Supplies You Will Need:
Scraps of fabric in spring colors
a straw or other round instrument (like a bamboo skewer)
Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheets in Champagne
A craft mat
Stretchable jewelry thread or jewelry chains for bracelets or necklaces.
Begin by cutting your fabric into long, skinny triangles. My strips were about 6-8″ long. The long the strip, the thicker the bead. For smaller beads, the width of the fabric scrap should be about 1/4-1/2″. Mine were larger beads and the scraps were about 1″ wide.
Apply Fabric Fuse™ to the wrong side of your fabric, and smooth it out with a straw (as seen in the video below).
Starting with the long end of the fabric, begin to wrap is around the straw, making sure the fabric wraps tight and smooth. Gently slide the bead off the straw and lay on a craft mat to dry.
I added some more glue on the outside of my “bead” to secure all lose ends and prevent fraying. You could add one or two more coats of glue to make the bead ever harder, or use clear nail polish or other clear drying finish to really give them a nice finish.
Here is a quick video to show the whole process:

I also experimented with adding some Champagne DecoFoil™ to the beads to help give them some extra shimmer. You can use the DecoFoil™ Liquid Adhesive for this step!
String your beads on some stretchy thread or jewelry chains and enjoy!
