Hello crafty friends! It’s Ellen here. I have two projects to share with you today that feature the gorgeous new Hot Foils and Glitz Glitter Gel.

This week, the design team is challenged to get inspiration from books. As a kid I didn’t like to read a lot, but that changed a little bit with Tiny’s books. Tiny is a young and beautiful girl who has all kinds of adventures. As you can see below, it’s mainly the drawings that made me love the books. The illustrations are really wonderful!

In one of the stories, her grandma and herself make jam. Let that be where I got my inspiration from for the first card.

Below you can see a few ThermOWeb (TOW) supplies I used on both cards. This is simply because I used the same techniques on the cards.

Hot Foil Foils add stunning and eye-catching foil designs to any project!  The TOW foils are designed to work with a Hot Foil System.

First you need to heat up your hot foil system according to the directions. Then you place a hot foil plate on the machine. Cut a piece of the Deco Foil Hot Foil Roll that is a little larger than the paper you want to foil. What’s important is that you place the color side facing the foil plate/the non-colored side facing the card base. After you ran it through your laminator you can reveal the pretty foiled background.

To add a little more shimmer I did use Some Glitz Glitter Gel too. If you want you can first add some ink to your background. I use iCraft Pixie Spray to stick my stencil on top the cardstock. The Deco Foil Stencil Pal helps me to apply the glitter gel.

In my cards I tried to reflect the colors I saw in the book. Of course, the theme is prominent on my card.

Also, the second card was inspired by how the cover looks of another Tiny’s book.

What you often don’t see in the pictures is the glue I use. ThermOWeb has many different glue types, ideal to apply different items. You will therefore always find the same supplies in my supplies list. Simply because they are great (Permanent Adhesive Dot Runner, iCraft UltraBond,  3D Foam Squares, 3D Foam Tape Jumbo Roll).

I thought it was a great idea to get inspired this time! Hopefully you’ve been stimulated, I’m looking forward to see what you make with a book in mind!
