Valentine’s Day is just a few days ahead and what is sweeter than some new pillows to jazz up your couches! I’ve been making new pillow covers for the holidays as I like to change things up as I quickly get very bored with the same decor. So a pillow cover is ideal as they’re quick to make, inexpensive and best of all..look great!
And not only is this for Valentine’s Day..perfect for a teen room or a special gift for a friend who needs some cheering up too! Here’s the supplies you’ll need to get started:
Therm O Web iCraft® Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheets in Red
Therm O Web iCraft® Deco Foil™ Iron On Transfer Sheets
Moda’s Kiss Kiss Fabrics
Instructions:
1. Cut 3 pieces of fabrics that measure: 10 by 19 inches, 4 1/2 by 19 inches and 4 1/2 by 19 inches. You’ll also need two pieces that measure 13 by 19 inches for the back.
3. Now grab your Deco Foil™ and fabric and let’s add that fun kissy lip to the fabric. You’ll need a hot iron (steam off) on the wool/silk setting. To get started lay you fabric on a smooth surface. Find the center and press on the the Iron-On Transfer sheet (bumpy side to the fabric) with your kissy lip template. Press the Iron-On Transfer to your fabric. Allow to cool and remove the top liner which will expose the adhesive.
6. I followed this wonderful tutorial from Designer Amanda Niederhauser to complete the pillow and the envelope back.
And here’s the simple companion pillow I made to go with it!
