Being a little ahead of the Christmas sewing rush is always a great feeling…I love it! Christmas Snow Puppy will make a perfect gift as a wall hanging or a snuggle-up quilt for my newest grandpuppy, Tyson. I loved using Blend Fabrics Snowlandia designs by Maude Asbury in this quilt. It is full of dogs and cats ready to celebrate Christmas and they are dressed-up so cute for winter fun. The fabrics will look adorable in any sewing project! StitchnSew Fleece Sew-in High Loft is just the right weight keep those fur babies warm and comfortable, and using Therm O Web SpraynBond Basting Adhesive to layer the fabric and batting together made it so easy to quilt.

Fabric in this quilt: Blend Fabric, Snowlandia, by Maude Asbury
I used the fabric with dogs in it, but look how cute the cats are, too!
Using the Christmas Snow Puppy pattern, trace applique designs on the smooth side of Heat n Bond Lite, Iron-on Adhesive.
Iron adhesive pieces to wrong sides of fabrics following manufacturer’s directions. Let cool. Cut out applique pieces.
Peel off paper liner (it peels off so easy!) from the backs of applique pieces. Place applique, adhesive side down, on the right side of the center block. Press each section following the manufacturer’s directions until the entire piece is bonded. Let cool.
Sew around edges using a straight, zig-zag, or blanket stitch. Machine or hand embroider the mouth. Aurifil #5002 in 50 wt was a perfect match for this!
Tip: When applying white applique designs over a darker printed fabric, sometimes the bottom fabric will show through. To avoid this, here’s a method to keep it from happening.
Take two pieces of white fabric:
Spray one side of one piece of fabric with Therm O Web SpraynBond Basting Adhesive; lay second piece of fabric over the sprayed area matching edges; smooth to remove any bumps or wrinkles:
Trace design on the smooth side of HeatnBond Lite Iron-on Adhesive:
Iron applique, rough side down, on either side of the two sprayed sections of fabric. Cut out applique designs.
Peel off paper liner from the backs of applique pieces. Place applique, adhesive side down, on the right side of the fabric. Press each section following the manufacturer’s directions until the entire piece is bonded. Let cool and sew around edges using a straight, zig-zag, or blanket stitch.
To assemble quilt using Therm O Web Stitch n Sew Fleece Sew-in High Loft/Batting and Therm O Web Spray n Bond Basting Adhesive:
Protect the area where you will be working by placing an old sheet or paper under and around the area you’ll be spraying. Place the fleece/batting on your working surface. Using the Spray N Bond Adhesive, spray about 6-8 inches across the top portion of the fleece/batting from one edge to the other. Place the wrong side of quilt backing face down over the sprayed surface of fleece/batting. Smooth fabric to ensure it adheres to the sprayed fabric. Continue this method of spraying and smoothing just 6-8 inches at a time until you reach the bottom of the quilt back. Check for creases or folds. Turn over to have fleece/batting facing up. Add quilt front, the wrong side down, to fleece/batting using the same spray and smooth method as the backing. Trim edges and square-up quilt. Quilt as desired.
