Hello Therm-O-Web friends. It’s Shemaine here today. Are you still creating your Christmas and holiday cards? I sure am and I’d like to share some Christmas cards made with flock and Glitz Glitter Gel.
Christmas Cards with Glitz Glitter Gel
These cards came together fairly quickly and I know the recipients will be wowed when they open them. Here’s how easy they came together…
Christmas Cards with Flock Transfer Sheets & Glitz Glitter Gel
For the first card I am sharing today, I am using a variety of colors of Deco Foil Flock transfer sheets along with Easy Cut Adhesive. I love using these adhesive sheets on intricate dies. They make adhering them to projects and card bases so easy.
First I adhere the Easy Cut Adhesive to the back of the Blue Sky flock. Then I run it thru my die cutting machine with the wreath builder die from Momenta.
I cut the next layer with the Emerald Green. Peel the back off the cut and adhere it over the first layer I cut with the Blue Sky flock.
For my card background, I am using Unity Toner Card Fronts Snow Many Flakes. I thought the design would be great to place the wreath in the center of the card since there was no printed design.
I foil it with the Gold Glitter transfer foil and am ready to build my wreath design.
Using the foam squares, I adhere them to the back of the wreath and adhere it over the toner card front.
Using the Ultra Bond Adhesive I adhere the sentiment that I die cut with Anna Griffin gold foil cardstock to the die-cut wreath
Next, I cut the Poinsettia dies with the Ruby Red Flock and layer them using the Ultra Bond Adhesive.
I love using seed beads in the center of my flowers. I think they add a nice look to the center of the Poinsettias. I picked this jar of clear ones up in the $1 bins at Michaels a few years ago.
The finished card is quite festive and the Deco flock really pops!
For my next card, I cut a piece of Blue Sky flock, and using Gina K’s Powder Blue ink, I inked the flock to make it look like the sky. I found the best result for this technique was adhering our foam adhesive to the back of the Flock transfer sheet and then blending the ink slowly so the flock did not rub off too much.
Using a snowflake stencil I had in my stash from Crafters Companion and Irridescent Glitz Glitter Gel I applied the design over the flock and let it dry for an hour. I love how fast the Glitz dries.
Next, I cut all my Spellbinder snowman pieces with a variety of the deco flock and created my cute little snowman. I used the UltraBond liquid adhesive to piece him together.
Next I cut a piece of white cardstock to create a snowbank to mount him on. I traced the edge with Ultrabond and sprinkled iridescent glitter along the edge.
Using Gina K Designs 1/2 inch Terrific Tape I adhered the snowman to the snowbank and then to the flocked and glitzed card base.
I finished the card off by mounting the flocked base with red cardstock. Then I die cut this Diamond Press Sentiment twice with our Easy-Cut adhesive and black cardstock. Because the die was so intricate, when I tried to use Deco Foil Flock, the black flock was rubbing off when I tried to adhere it to the die-cut.
Here’s the finished card. The Glitz looks great on the flock and dried perfectly!
