It’s day two of the Therm O Web Halloween “Chills and Thrills Sew Along.” Are you ready for the next block? Yesterday’s block was “Frankie” who was looking a bit green and zapped. He’s one of four free blocks being shared this week over four days. A pattern for a final project, a table runner, will be shared on September 24th. This gives you time to get all four blocks sewn and ready! Check Monday’s post for what you’ll need to make the blocks and runner.
Halloween Sew-Along
Look who’s popped in today…it’s “The Count”! He’s looking quite dapper with his bow tie and cape, don’t you think?
“The Count” went together so fast and easy using the awesome Heat n Bond EZ Print Lite Sheets. You’ll love how easy the backing peels off without having to score the back of it. The blanket stitching around the designs was Aurifil Thread 28wt. It makes the designs pop out a bit more than 50wt thread (which is perfect for seam sewing.)
Applique Tip: Sewing small applique pieces on fabric can be made easier by using lightweight Heat n Bond Fusible Interfacing on the back of your fabric. It adds some stability which makes sewing those small pieces so much smoother. That purple Oliso iron makes ironing so fun!
You can find the PDF downloadable free pattern of “The Count” HERE.
Be sure to get the “Frankie” block and watch for the rest of the blocks and project! We’d love it if you shared your finished blocks with us on Instagram, #thermowebsewalong.
