Butterfly Dreams Hoop Ornament Instructions

Apply Aged Copper Metallix Gel to a piece of Gina K. Designs Luxury White cardstock with your Stencil Pal in a smooth even layer.  Apply Glazed Pewter Metallix Gel to a smaller piece of Luxury White cardstock in the same manner and set both aside to dry thoroughly.

While waiting for the Metalix Gel to dry, cut a piece of floral scrapbook paper slightly larger than the center circle of the Embroidery Hoop die and apply iCraft Easy Cut Adhesive to it. Run the cardstock through your die cutting machine or foil laminator on the cool setting to get good adhesion of the adhesive sheet to your cardstock.  Peel off the top piece of adhesive backing paper and apply a piece White Latte Flock Transfer Sheet onto the adhesive (remember, fuzzy side down!) and run it through your die-cutting machine or laminator on the cool setting to adhere the flock to the adhesive.  Peel off the Flock Transfer Sheet backing paper to reveal your flocked floral design.

Die-cut the Embroidery Hoop from the piece of Aged Copper Metallix Gel cardstock.  Die-cut the screw closure on the Embroidery Hoop once again from the Glazed Pewter Metallic Gel cardstock.  Die-cut the center of the Embroidery Hoop again from the White Latte flocked floral cardstock.  Set the center circular piece of the Aged Copper Metallix Gel cardstock aside to be used for the butterflies.  Trim the Glazed Pewter Metallix Gel screw closure and adhere it on top as shown below.

With a fine script stamp and permanent brown ink, stamp the circular White Latte flocked floral cardstock for a bit more interest.  The Deco Foil Flock stamps perfectly for a nice crisp image.

Butterflies

On to the butterflies.  Die-cut the solid back piece of the Mini Detailed Butterflies from the Aged Copper Metallix Gel circle left over after die cutting the Embroidery Hoop.  Cover a piece of kraft cardstock with iCraft Easy Cut Adhesive and then apply Sunshine Yellow Flock Transfer Sheet to it as described previously.  The kraft colour of the underlying cardstock tones down the bright yellow colour of the flock slightly.  Die-cut the flocked cardstock with the detailed overlay dies from the Mini Detailed Butterflies.

Layer the Sunshine Yellow flocked die-cut butterflies over top of the Aged Copper Metallix Gel butterflies, adhering them in place with iCraft Ultra Bond Adhesive.  Gently shape the butterfly wings as the adhesive dries.

Assemble the Hoop

Assemble the Embroidery Hoop die cuts and cut a 4 1/4″ circle from kraft cardstock or floral scrapbook paper for the back of the embroidery hoop to keep all of the pieces in place ( you can die cut a circle or just trace around the outside of the embroidery hoop).  Adhere the layered butterflies in place with iCraft Ultra Bond adhesive.  Select a sentiment for your hoop ornament and back it with a scrap of Aged Copper Metallix Gel cardstock, adhering it in place with Ultra Bond adhesive.

Ink a length of Gina K. Designs White and Gold Sheer Satin Fancy Ribbon with a pale shade of pink ink for your ornament hanger and you are done!

Here are a few closeups of the finished hoop ornament.
