Hi there is it Amy from Sew Incredibly Crazy. Can you feel the air around you is a little different? I do believe that Love is in the air. It is February and if you have a special someone in your life, you only have a few days to so only a few days to make your loved one that special gift. With a few hours a some cute fabrics you can tell them that you love them,” A Bushel and a Peck.” by creating this table topper.
This was one of my favorite songs to sing to my babies when they were small and I know that it will bring a smile to my lips every time I walk by it.
A Bushel and a Peck Moda Fabrics Table Topper
To make this table topper you will need:
Moda’s Just Another Walk in the Woods
18 1/2″ square solid white fabric
Aurifil Thread in white and pink, or variegated
HeatnBond® EZ Print Lite
StitchnSew™ Fleece
Oliso Iron
Sewing Machine
Table Topper Instructions:
Sew the squares as the diagram show above.
Take two of your coordinating 10″ fabrics squares and cut to 8 1/2″ Square.
Cut 20 – 2/12″ squares to coordinate with the first block created. Sew them around the edge of your 8 1/2″ square. Repeat with the second. After you are done, you need to cut both of the squares, like show below.
The center is not needed for this project. Take you triangle and center and sew them to the first large square. Layer and quilt your project.
To add the applique on the project, the hearts were created using an Accuquilt cutter. To do that you need to iron your HeatnBond® Lite to the wrong side of your fabric.
Next, you run the fabric through your cutter.
You can then remove the backing paper and iron in the desired locations.
See picture for this layout. If you don’t have a cutter. You can find a heart on the internet and print it easily on to the HeatnBond® EZ Print sheets. The letters are below. Just print to your EZ Print sheets.
Sew around the letters and hearts. Bind and it is completed.
