Hello, Friends!
Dawn here today with some autumn card inspiration created with our NEW Deco Foil Toner Card Fronts and NEW Deco Foil Toner Sentiments, a brand-new addition to the Deco Foil line. Each pack of these Deco Foil Toner Card Fronts includes four each of two different designs. Haunted contains a witch hat print and a haunted house character print; Harvest contains a leaf print and a harvest vegetables print.

Each pack of Deco Foil Toner Sentiments includes sentiments that range from seasonal sayings to holiday greetings, with a few “every day” sentiments in the mix. There are two sets of 28 unique sentiments for a total of 56.

You can use Toner Card Fronts and Toner Sentiments with our range of Deco Foil Transfer Foils, including NEW Color Harmony packs, and with our designer foil collections, including Gina K. Designs Fancy Foils, Brutus Monroe Toner Foils and Unity Transfer Foils. Be sure you choose Transfer Foils NOT Hot Foils; hot foils are for use with hot foiling systems and metal hot foiling plates only and won’t work with toner-printed designs.

Please note, we do offer three Deco Foil Transfer Foils that aren’t recommended for toner foiling: Magical Shattered Glass, Snow Day and Opal. These foils are a bit more sheer and are best used over Deco Foil Transfer Gel or Liquid Adhesive on a white or light-colored background, or with Deco Foil White Foam Adhesive Sheets to make shiny foiled die cuts.

The first group of cards I’d like to share were made using our Deco Foil Haunted Toner Card Fronts and Autumn Vibes Toner Sentiments. I love that Toner Card Fronts can be foiled, ink blended and colored with markers, colored pencils or watercolors to change the look. This is a stack of “before” elements I foiled. You can see the haunted house panel I foiled with Gina K. Designs Dazzling Orange Fancy Foil at front left. After peeling away the foil sheet, I transferred the leftover foil “negative” onto a Deco Foil Solid Toner Card Front to create the foiled design in reverse. Create two card fronts from a single piece of foil!

Here’s a closer look at my haunted house card. Using my Gina K. Designs Fuse Foiling System on setting 3, I foiled the panel and the toner sentiment with our Deco Foil Plum Transfer Foil. Next, I used my Gina K. Designs Blending Brushes and Gina K. Designs Premium Dye Inks in Tomato Soup, Jelly Bean Green and Wild Lilac to softly color the panel background. To add a fun glow to the windows in the haunted house and to the character features, I grabbed a yellow highlighter and colored them in.

Here’s another way to use the haunted house panel, for double foiling!

I had foiled another panel with Violet Deco Foil from our Shades of Purple Deco Foil Color Harmony Foil Multipack. I used that for another project but transferred the leftover foil to a Solid Deco Foil Toner Card Front. Once I peeled the now-clear clear liner away, because all of the foil had been used up on the two panels, I decided to foil the Violet panel again using Silver Shattered Glass Deco Foil to add a touch of eerie magic. I did the same thing with my Autumn Vibes “Have a Haunting Halloween” sentiment; foiled first with Gina K. Designs Dazzling Orange Fancy Foil, set it aside for another project, then transferred the foil negative to a piece of Solid Deco Foil Toner Paper to create the reverse look. Very Haunted Mansion chic!

The cute little die set is from Spellbinders; I die cut the ghosts and the clouds from our Foundation Piecing Stabilizer to give them a semi-translucent look and unique texture; that product is usually used by quilters, but it works great with dies, too. I added a die-cut vellum circle behind the haunted house to help the die cuts stand out more on the foiled background.

Here’s a look at a few more cards I created using the witch hats panel, as well. I’m a pretty plain-and-simple card maker when it comes to coloring techniques, so I love that I can add color and shine so easily with Deco Foil Toner Card Fronts & Deco Foil Toner Sentiments.

For autumn and Thanksgiving cards, the Deco Foil Harvest Toner Card Fronts are fun to foil and fun to color in. Here’s the full group of cards I created. Each has a unique Deco Foil Autumn Vibes Toner Sentiment; three feature cute autumn die cuts and two were colored using colored pencil (harvest vegetables) or ink pads and a Zig water brush (leaves).

The close-ups:

How cute is this Tiny Pie Die from Trinity Stamps? I die cut the pie pan from a piece of Solid Deco Foil Toner Paper that I had foiled with Iridescent Deco Foil. For the card below, I die cut the cupcake frosting from the same foiled Iridescent toner piece. The vegetables above and the leaves below, and the sentiments, were all foiled in Copper Deco Foil. This Decorative Fall Treats Die Set by Scrapbook.com is really versatile and includes several different treats from coffee to muffins to doughnuts.

Our Watercolor Deco Foils are some of my favorites, effortless gradient effects that shine with a single pass through a hot laminator or the Gina K. Designs Fuse Foiling System. This leaf panel was foiled with Emerald Watercolor Deco Foil; the sentiment was foiled in Butterscotch Deco Foil from our Shades of Gold Deco Foil Color Harmony Foil Multipack. With so much color and shine, this card doesn’t need anything else to convey your message.

For these next three harvest-themed cards, the color from things other than foil takes center stage. That’s the versatility of Deco Foil Toner Card Fronts; make the foil the focal point or let it enhance the rest of the elements while giving your handmade cards a professional looking metallic finish.

The leaf background on this Happy Thanksgiving card was created with the Gina K. Designs for Therm O Web StampnFoil Thankful Leaves Stamp Set and Gina K. Designs Dye Inks in Wild Dandelion, Sweet Mango and Grass Green. To finish the card, I cut a thin strip from one of the veggie panels, foiled it Copper and colored the design with colored pencils. The Autumn Vibes Toner Sentiment was foiled the same Copper color.

For the “Hey, Gourd-geous!” card, I foiled the background panel and the sentiment in Gold for a classic look, then piled on the die-cut card stock harvest veggies using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Gourds Dies.

I’ve saved my favorite autumn card for last. I’m no artist but I love the artsy look of this card created by using a Zig water brush with my Gina K. Designs Ink Cubes to add soft washes of color to my foiled leaf panel. I hope you get lots of chances this autumn for creative play and maybe some jumping in the colorful, autumn leaves, too. Happy Creating!
