Hi! Amanda from Jedi Craft Girl here and I am loving this apple pillow! It’s a quick project that should only take about an hour. I gave one of these pillows to my daughter’s Kindergarten teacher and she fell to pieces over it! Here’s how you can make one!
Fall Apple Pillow Tutorial by Amanda Niederhauser
Supplies:
Heat n Bond® Lite or HeatnBond® EZ print sheets
Scraps of red, brown, green, and white fabric
1/2 yard neutral lightweight canvas fabric
fiberfill
pom pom trim
Pattern – click HERE
Begin by cutting the pillow top 20″ x 12″ and the pillow back the same measurements.
Trace the apple pieces to the Heat n Bond® Lite and cut around them. Or to save this step, run an HeatnBond® EZ Print sheet through the printer and print the pattern directly to the Heat n Bond Lite! Iron to the wrong side of the apple fabric pieces. Cut along the pattern lines. Peel off the backing fabric and press in place.
Top stitch around each piece in dark brown thread.
I didn’t put a leaf on the apple core. Finish the pillow by basting pom pom trim to the sides of the pillow. Place the back and the front pieces right sides together, sew and turn, leaving a small opening for stuffing. Stuff with fiberfill and stitch closed. You may also choose to add a zipper to the back instead of leaving an opening. Now, who said back to school wasn’t fun!!
[…] fun back to school decoration or even a thoughtful gift for a teacher. My tutorial is over on the Therm O Web Blog! I used Heat n Bond Lite which made the appliqué a snap! […]
