Hi! It’s Jen from The Smitten Chicken. I am excited to share this fun and fast project with you today. Fall is my favorite season! You really can’t have too many Fall decorations!
I am sewing along with the Quilty Barn Sew and Stitch Along by Fat Quarter Shop. I am using Lori Holt’s Farm Girl Vintage book to create a fun table runner. Miss Lori always says to ‘be the boss of your own quilt!’ And I’m going to do just that.
Happy Fall Y’all Word Applique
I LOVE adding text to my projects! So instead of a patchwork center for my table runner, I opted for a fun Fall saying! It is super easy and you can make one too!
Supplies you will need:
Ultra Hold HeatnBond for dark colors
16 1/2″ square of Light fabric
SVG patterns Happy Fall & Y’all
PDF pattern 1 happy fall yall
PDF pattern 2 happy fall yall2
TIP: The PDF pattern is the MIRROR image of the text! This is so your words won’t be backward!
First, adhere the HeatnBond to the wrong side of your dark fabric using your Oilso iron. Then cut out the text by hand or by using your electronic cutting device. Be careful as the cursive words can be very fragile and break easily!
Next, place the words on the light fabric. Using your Oliso iron, press the letters onto the light-colored fabric.
And you are done! Wouldn’t this make the cutest pillow??? I had to add the y’all since we are new to Texas and I plan on fully embracing the Texan! Yee-haw!
