“A Dash of Magic” Designer Heather Collins LOVES Halloween!!!
Cool weather, witches, bats, cobwebs, bats, oh my! Every year I start planning Halloween costumes as soon as last Halloween ends. Luckily for me, my daughter also shares my love also. But last year my daughter decided she wanted to pick what she wanted to be, with very little input by me. I knew this day would come.
But I have to say it made me a little sad. I always enjoyed our bonding time of searching for just the right combo of her idea and mine. But here I found myself in uncharted territory of trying to get exactly what she wanted. Luckily, in the end, it all worked out and I was lucky enough to get this perfect photo of her. She totally directed how she wanted it done too. My little girl is growing up!

Dash of Magic Instructions:
First I took a wooden moon sign I found and put two pieces of Rebekah Meier Designs Mixed Media Adhesive Sheets with a Brayer. Then using an X-actor knife I cut off the parts that I didn’t want. Because the sheets had adhesive on them it made applying them a piece of cake. They were very easy to cut too. The sheets didn’t tear or rip, which was made this part go very quickly.
I sprayed some Brutus Monroe Color Burst Essential Colors on the sheets, then sprayed with water. I also sprinkled some Ultra Fine Glitter Dust over it too. Be aware that the color set very quickly so there isn’t a lot of playing time involved.
I cut Deco Foil Clear Toner Sheets Pumpkin Patch, Endless Leaves, Cobwebs & Cauldrons, Toner Sheets and Peel ‘n Stick Toner Sheets in half. Next, I heated up my Minc and using copy paper on setting four I foiled the Clear Toner Sheets. Then I took the piece of foil that was negative and applied to the Toner Sheet. I also took the Deco Foil Transfer Sheets Black.
In my supplies, I have supplies in bins that have items that I group together by theme. Luckily I had in the wooden haunted house, ‘magic’, glitter pieces and little black key. I layered different size pieces of the foiled pieces with the items I found in my ‘Halloween’ bin…and my daughter’s picture. Using the Zots Roll Medium, Small and 3D foam everything went together very quickly. Just trace the bats and peel off the backing. Next place the foiled toner sheet on top of the bats and then I used some 3D black puffy paint as an outline on the bats.
This is a great project for a favorite Halloween photo for over your mantle, on a door or in a window. Can’t wait to create more with these products! Till next time! #thermoweb @decofoil #rebekahmeier #halloween
