Now it’s time to put the quilt blocks together. The smaller quilt blocks make it a cinch for this quick summer project that is perfect for gifts or your own home decor. Who can’t use a new, super cute kitchen towel? Carla here from Creatin’ in the Sticks to show you how to make your own pretty towels.

Supplies

4 – quilt blocks from the Summer Fun Quilt Block Sew Along

HeatnBond Lite Fusible Adhesive

Purchased kitchen towels ( I found these at my local quilt shop )

Iron (I love my pink Oliso) and ironing surface

Aurifil thread 40 wt (#2780)

Rotary cutter and cutting mat with ruler

Kitchen Towel Instructions

Cut four 6 1/2″ squares of HeatnBond Lite Fusible Adhesive. Fuse the squares to the wrong side of the 4 quilt blocks following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Place the quilts blocks on the cutting mat with the backing paper down and trim the quilt blocks to 6″ with the rotary cutter and ruler.

Next, place one towel on the ironing surface and press. Peel the backing paper from 2 of the quilt blocks and position them with the adhesive side down on one end of the towel. Following the package instructions, bond the quilt blocks to the towel. Work in sections until the entire design is bonded to the towel. Once both blocks are bonded, let them cool.

Now, stitch around the blocks with a zigzag, blanket, or straight stitch with the Aurifil 40 wt thread.
