50th Birthday Scrapbook Layout with Deco Foil
Hiya ThermOWeb fans!
Suzanna here today to share with you a birthday layout with lots of shimmer and shine thanks to DecoFoil! My husband recently celebrated his 50th birthday, while quarantined. It’s a big deal and making a big deal of the occasion while maintaining social distancing was kinda tough in real life. Pulling out the showstopper on my layout was easy with all the appropriate DecoFoil bling a 50th birthday celebration deserves!
ThermOWeb Supplies
- DecoFoil Clear Designer Toner Sheets
- DecoFoil PeelNStick Toner Sheets – Starry Night
- DecoFoil Foil Transfer Sheets – Gold, Deep Blue
- Gina K. Designs Fancy Foils – Red Velvet
- Gina K. Designs Permanent Adhesive Dot Runner
- iCraft Ultra Bond Adhesive 2 fl oz
- iCraft Metal Tips For Liquid Adhesives
- Gina K. Designs Foam Tape White 3/8 in x 12 ft
Gold foil added to the Starry Night Clear Designer Toner Sheet is a perfect way to add a plethora of shimmery stars to a birthday layout! The shimmer of the overlay (clear designer toner sheet) on the patterned paper is spectacular! It really does jazz up the patterned paper and adds a festive feeling.
Continuing with the star theme to celebrate the star birthday man, I manually die cut some PeelNStick Toner Sheets with stars and then ran them through my hot laminator with the same color palette foils as the colors that I choose to work with from this birthday collection from Crate Paper; gold (for the yellow), Deep Blue and Red Velvet. I then used the accompanying stitched embossing die after foiling for some additional texture and pizzazz. Bonus – PeelNStick, no added adhesive necessary!
A shiny title is a must for a 50th birthday layout! What better way to draw attention to things than with bling, right?! Again, a toner sheet, manual die (from Heidi Swapp), and DecoFoil transfer sheet to the rescue!
Be sure to head over to the ThermOWeb YouTube channel (or hit the link below) to view the tutorial on how exactly I created all these shiny stars and title words for this layout! The “how-to” is the first 5-6 minutes of the video while the remainder is process video as I put together the remainder of the layout.
