Project Instructions:

For my project I wanted to create something bright and cheerful to hang on a nursery wall.  I had this quilt in my head for a couple months and I am overjoyed with how it turned out.

I also wanted a lot of texture, with the sun I took a 1/4 yard of yellow polka dots and gathered the ends as much as I could leaving the center long.  Doing this gave me some extra fabric to scrunch up in the middle where I randomly tied it down with some 1/8″ ribbons.

Before I sewed the sunshine down I place my ribbon rays underneath and sewed everything down together.  I pinned the rays down and did the sewing and the quilting at the same time.

For the letters I used some HeatnBond® Fusible Adhesive from Therm O Web and did a nice blanket stitch around the letters.
I also used some SrpaynBond™ Basting Spray from ThermOWeb to hold my quilt sandwich together so I didn’t have to use so many pins.
To finish off my quilt I used some 2 1/2″ grosgrain as the binding, I love how the binding almost looks like a soft pillowy cloud.

Here is a closeup of the sunshine, I am just loving all the texture.
I hope you have enjoyed my project today!
Jenifer
