Let me welcome you, friends, with my new super easy quilt made with the frightfully delightful  Spooky Town fabrics by Blend. Carla, here from Creatin’ in the Sticks and I couldn’t wait to put Cori Dantini’s characters into a quilt. Adding Deco Foil made the perfect accent for a spooky welcome.

Once the sashing and borders are stitched, it’s time to accent the quilt with appliques and Deco Foil™.

Apply HeatnBond® Lite to the back of the left over panels.  Cut out the characters and apply them to the borders following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Tip:  Don’t stitch around the characters now.  Wait and do the stitching as part of the quilting once the quilt sandwich has been put together.TooltipText

Adding the welcome foil is so fun.  Print out letters on a computer.  For this quilt, a “spooky” font was used.  Trace the letters on the back (smooth side) of a sheet of Deco Foil™ Hot Melt Adhesive. No reverse is needed.

Cut out the letters and place them on the quilt.  Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to apply the hot melt letters.  Let the letters cool and peel off the paper.

Apply the Deco Foil™ to the letters following the instructions by the manufacturer.

Tip:  Pressure is key here.  Really press the iron down. Ironing for a full 30 seconds.TooltipText

Let the letters cool completely before removing the foil.
