Welcome Bohemian Banner Instructions:
Paint the 12 x 14 Hanging Canvas from Jillibean Soup with a diluted wash of light tan acrylic paint and a flexible matte medium. Paint both the wood supports and the canvas itself.
Tape off the canvas section with Purple Tape and lightly sand the wooden supports top and bottom. Add a wash of brown antiquing cream to age the wood. Once the wood sections have dried, stamp the painted canvas randomly with a script stamp and permanent brown ink.
Select three different patterned papers from the Bohemian Brew Collection pack (these are Peace JB1544, Content JB1549 and Happiness JB 1548) and stencil with Rebekah Meier Designs Mixed Media Medium through the Mini Rosetta and Mini Infinite Lace stencils. Let the Mixed Media Medium dry till clear and tacky and then burnish on Rebekah Meier Designs Mixed Media Transfer Foils (New Penny, Antique Pearl and Old Gold were used here).
Cut out the foiled stenciled patterns and dust with Perfect Pearls to cover any of the Mixed Media Medium that wasn’t covered with the Transfer Foils.
Die cut two more ‘petals’ for each of your flowers from the Bohemian Brew Collection Pack papers with the circle die of your choice (these are Grand Scalloped Circles dies). I chose to use Calm – JB 1545 for the middle petal on each of the flowers and used the same paper as I’d used for the foil stenciling as the back petals for each flower.
Ink the edges of each petal if desired and gently round the edges. Insert a brad through the center of each flower to join the petals and set aside for the moment.
Cover Rebekah Meier’s Mixed Media Art Paper with New Penny and Old Gold Transfer Foil by removing the adhesive backing paper and burnishing on the foils. Die cut leaves from the New Penny and butterflies from the Old Gold (these dies are Leaves So Very Gorgeous and Wandering Butterflies dies). Layer the leaves and butterflies with more die cuts from the Bohemian Brew scrapbook papers (Peace – JB1544 was used for the butterflies and Happiness – JB 1548 was used for the leaves).
Cover Rebekah Meier Designs Mixed Media Foam Sheets with scraps of each of the papers used for the flowers. Die cut the word ‘welcome’ from the paper covered foam sheets, alternating the papers used.
And then assemble your welcome banner, adhere the word ‘welcome’ to the top wooden support on the prepared canvas by peeling off the adhesive backing on the Mixed Media Foam Sheet. Gently bend up the wings on one of the butterflies and adhere it on the right side with Mixed Media Medium and add one of the coordinating Pea Pods die cuts from the Bohemian Brew Collection Pack.
Affix the leaves, remaining butterflies and the flowers to the canvas portion of the hanging canvas with Mixed Media Medium. Add some more of the Pea Pods die cuts to the wooden support at the bottom of the canvas.
Your Welcome Bohemian Banner is complete! Thanks so much to Jillibean Soup for providing me with their wonderful Hanging Canvas and Bohemian Brew Collection Pack, I had so much fun creating this home decor piece with them.
Hope that you’ve enjoyed seeing how my welcome banner came together and as always thanks for stopping by and happy creating!
