Watercolor and Stenciled Mixed Media Tape Cards Instructions

Step 1. Stick 3 pieces of Mixed Media Tape to your working surface. The strips should be long enough to cover a card front.
Step 2. Spray the strips of tape with water.
Step 3. Paint the tape with watercolors.
Step 4. Mix at least 3 different watercolors and blend them together.

Step 5. Peel off the backing from the tape and adhere the strips to a White Premium Cardstock card base. I decided to add mine diagonally.
Step 6. Cut any remaining pieces of tape from the card panel.
Step 7. Place a detailed stencil on top of the card panel, making sure to cover the painted Mixed Media tape too. Apply Wild Lilac Premium Dye Ink using a sponge dauber and cover the entire card panel with ink.
Step 8. Use a Deco Foil Adhesive Pen to add some foiled details to the stenciled pattern.

The best part of this project is the simplicity of the process. You don’t need any additional tools to add your foil. In this case the Deco Foil Pen Adhesive only needs to dry, and it’s tacky texture with help you add the foil by just burnishing the Deco Foil sheet!

step9

Now all you need to do is add your choice of embellishments to your background. I used scraps from the previously painted Mixed Media Tape and attached that to matching cardstock and then die cut feathers from it. I also cut feathers from Mixed Media Foam Sheets so I could easily add matching Deco Foil to it without needing a laminator.

TIP: To make a background in a different color just use a different color of ink. The colors on the mixed media tape will always come through the stenciled pattern but your predominant color will always be the one you used on your final layer with the stencil.
