Pet Bed Thermoweb

Hi, everyone! It’s Amy from over at Sew Incredibly Crazy.

I created this colorful dog bed using a few vivid colors from the Amy Barickman’s Crossroads Denim collection.   The colors that I choose were Metal Grey, Eggplant, Downtown Teal, and Midtown Moss.   The denim is so soft and easy to work with.  I can see several projects that would work really well using this fabric.

Pet Bed 3

To make the pet bed, I followed the instructions of the Indigo Junction Pieced Pet Pillow.  It gives instructions to the hourglass blocks above or the option I choose which was the recycle version.  I wanted to personalize the bed and didn’t want it to be too busy looking.

Plus my puppy is a boy and wanted to keep it a somewhat manly for the little fella.

We haven’t had a dog in our home for almost 10 years and I wanted to make him something a little more special.   I printed off his name.  The letters are about 5 inches in height.  Then, I took my  HeatnBond® Lite , traced the letters on it so that they are in reverse.

Pet Bed 7

Ironed it to my fabric of choice.  The fabric I choose is from a new  line called Vintage Made Modern from Amy Barickman by RJR Fabric.

Pet Bed 6

Cut them out, centered them on the back, and ironed them in place on the back pillow portion.  I sewed a simple straight stitch around all the letters.  Then, I finished sewing the rest of the pet bed together.

Using HeatnBond® Lite , you can personalize just about anything.

Pet Bed

Now, I can enjoy watching my furry friend in his super soft and personalized resting spot.

Pet Bed 4

I do believe that it is Sawyer approved.
