Recently, I made a laptop sleeve that featured a simple velcro flap closure and button embellishment.

Whenever I use Velcro in a sewing project, I like to keep Therm O Web’s Super Stik permanent glue stick handy!  (Though it is permanent for paper projects, it washes out easily for sewing projects.)

When I’m ready to position the Velcro-half onto my project, I simply apply the Super Stik glue to the back.

Next, I position the Velcro strip in place.

Finally, I use a zigzag stitch around the perimeter of the Velcro to hold it in place.

Of course, I repeat this step on the other Velcro-half as well!

Therm O Web’s Super Stik permanent glue stick is the perfect glue for all my sewing projects! It helps me keep Velcro in place and doesn’t gunk up my sewing machine needle like sticky-back Velcro.  It works great for zippered projects too!
