Hiya ThermOWeb fans! Suzanna here today to share with you a spring layout featuring the new Deco Foil for Unity Adhesive Transfers along with some foil and flock transfer sheets. Have you had a chance to check out the new Adhesive Transfers?

If you are a scrapbooker who wants to add foil to your pages but don’t want to invest in a laminator and already have a manual die-cutting machine, this is the way to go! I put foil on my photo!! You have to check these things out!

ThermOWeb supplies;

Unity Stamps/ Other supplies;

  • Rectangle Scalloped {border stamps}
  • Rectangle Scalloped {border stamps} – Digital Cut File
  • PinkFresh Studio, Life Right Now collection
  • BLOSSOMING CHERRY BOUGHS by Nic Squirrell (Silhouette Design Store Product ID 126740)

First things first; these amazing Adhesive Transfers. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! It’s a multi-step process;

  1. Using scissors, cut the desired design from the sheet. You don’t have to fussy cut it, just get the shape.
  2. Peel off the back liner, you will be pulling away a clear, thin sheet. Position the transfer on the project with the printed side up. I don’t recommend lifting and repositioning, try and make sure it’s down correctly the first time.
  3. Place the project in a Craft & Carrier Sheet and either run through a hot laminator OR through a manual die-cutting machine.
  4. Remove from the Craft & Carrier Sheet and peel back the top liner, the printed material will come up and leave a clear adhesive design behind. It’s there, try to resist the need to touch it.
  5. Using scissors, cut a piece of foil slightly larger than the design. Place the foil color side up on top of the adhesive design.
  6. Again, place in a Craft & Carrier Sheet and repeat step 3 to transfer the foil.
  7. Peel away the foil sheet and voila! a foiled design!

The above is a glossy photo – that is foiled! I used Wild Cherry, a slightly brighter pop of pink for some contrast to that Midnight Blue flock. The softness of the flock for the cherry blossoms (and spring half of the title) mixed with the shimmer of the foil works together nicely in this Spring layout.

The beauty of these transfer sheets is that can literally put foil anywhere if your die-cutting machine or laminator is big enough. I used the words beautiful and sunshine on Elle’s Studio labels that coordinated with my pink and navy color palette.

While the cherry blossom digital cut file is lovely, check out those flock flowers! Aren’t they gorgeous? I love that the Honey Bee Stamps die embossed texture into the Flock adding more dimension and form to the homemade embellishment.

I layered not only patterned paper with my photos but these scalloped border frames from Unity Stamps. You can buy an SVG file to cut them out with your digital cutting machine! Pixie Dots are a great temporary way of helping you line up the cut frame and stamp to align the stamp for accurate stamping.

One final look at my Spring layout. Don’t the flock and foil look lovely together?

Be sure to check out the process video below to see how these great Adhesive Transfers work with a die-cutting machine. While I normally prefer to use my laminator with foil, my preference for these transfers is with a die-cut machine. I don’t know that I would run my photos through the laminator as the heat is tougher to control. Especially as my laminator runs either hot or cold, there isn’t a dial for various levels of hot.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Suzanna
