Designer Alice Golden today shares a thoughtful and much appreciated baby gift idea!
I love to give books to a new baby. They bring back so many wonderful memories of reading to my own boys when they were babies… there are a few that I can still recite from memory because we read them so often. These are a few of our favorite books!
Taking a little time to make the gift wrap extra special is also something I enjoy. When you combine two different gift wraps the result is truly something unique. I used Therm O Web’s Sticky Tape Runner to combine the story themed wrap with the pink paper.
Foam Squares add dimension to the die cut element on the front of the card.
This gift was for a little girl named Brynn.
Baby Gift Wrap by Alice Golden
Therm O Web Supplies:
iCraft Adhesive sheet
SuperStik permanent glue stick
Other Supplies:
thin chipboard (a cereal box works well for this)
scrap of patterned paper
alphabet die (this project used MaryJane from QuicKutz)
glitter
hole punch
Making your own initial tag using iCraft adhesive and a SuperStik glue stick is easy if you have an alphabet die.
1. Die cut the letter out of thin chipboard.
2. Cut iCraft slightly larger than the die.
3. Adhere the iCraft adhesive to the front of a scrap of paper.
4. Die cut the letter.
5. Adhere the two letters together using SuperStik glue stick.
6. Peel back the protective covering on the front of the letter to expose the iCraft adhesive.
7. Sprinkle with glitter.
8. iCraft allows you to add a thin, even coat of glitter and is transparent so the patterned paper underneath shows through. All that is left to do is punch a hole at the top and thread with string or ribbon.
We at Therm O Web would like to extend our heartfelt thoughts to those customers, store owners, friends and families that were and still are affected by Hurricane Sandy. Some of our own staff members were stuck in Houston after the recent Quilt Market trade show and returned to no power or heat. Our hearts go out to everyone in the region. We send our wishes for the power to return and the rebuilding process to begin. Therm O Web makes products that help in the effort to bring forth warmth… especially when made with love. If you, your local quilt guilds or stores can help, please get involved and make a quilt, a blanket or pillowcases to donate to those affected. Here are some collection operations going on right now and a great quick quilt pattern to easily make donations:

November 8, 2012 at 10:03 am (12 years ago)I’m going to have to look into the Superstik Glue–I keep having the worst trouble with glue that fails as soon as it dries! This has given me a lot of good ideas and I love that you can recycle a cereal box to make something this lovely!
