Hello friends, this is Jennifer Long from Sew A Story, a fabric designer with Riley Blake Designs and a doll and quilt pattern designer. And I have a fun tutorial to share today!

An apple a day keeps the doctor away! Create your own stuffed fabric apple using fabric scraps and fun hand- or machine-stitching! Add a cute felt leaf and a cinnamon or twig stick for a cute decor item!

This pattern uses templates and is beginner-friendly. You can make these apples scrappy using all your favorite fabrics, or choose one or two prints for a coordinated look! Bonus: This pattern comes with templates to make the apples in three sizes, and I’m offering free SVG cut files to use with your die cutter!
Let’s start sewing! Just gather the supplies below, and then buy the pattern. I can’t wait to see what you create!

Tools

  • Sewing Machine/hand-sewing needles
  • Rotary Cutter
  • Quilting Ruler
  • Self-Healing Mat
  • Iron and Wool Mat
  • HeatNBond Fusible Fleece
  • Stuffing (polyester fiber fill)
  • Cinnamon stick or small twig
  • Turning tool or hemostats

Basic Instructions

1. Gather all your tools and supplies.

2. Download and print the pattern / templates.

3. Follow the fully-illustrated, step-by-step instructions.

4. Be creative! Use your imagination to add embellishments, embroidered details, and texture!

5. Display your finished Stuffed Apple!

Hi Friends! I am so happy you are here. My name is Jennifer Long, and I am a Riley Blake Designs Fabric Designer, Quilt & Doll Pattern Writer, Machine Embroidery Digitizer, and online educator. I am also the founder of the Sew A Story Pattern Club and the Modern Rag Doll Membership. I am married and a mom to (4) pre-teens / teens and live on a little hobby farm in rural Prairie Canada. I grew up training to be a professional ballet dancer, and later studied Early Childhood Education. I am passionate about all things FABRIC, imagination and design and am so blessed I can share this passion with others.
