We are so excited to welcome a new designer to the Therm O Web family, Laura Kelly! Laura’s style is whimsical and motivational, and just plain fun, and we can’t wait to see what you do with her products! Today I have created a gift set, comprised of a die-cut gift bag and a matching gift tag, using Laura’s new designer stamps, toner sheets, and transfer foil. I’ve got all the how-to’s to share, so let’s take a closer look.
Here’s a peek at some of the new Laura Kelly products! Today I’m mixing and matching both of her debut stamp sets with her beautiful Sunshine Yellow foil and Spotty Dots toner sheets. To get started, stamp and color a variety of stamp images, and fussy cut the images out. For my projects, I stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock and colored with Zig Real Brush Markers.
Turn your laminator machine on to the 3mm setting, and allow it to heat up. Place a toner sheet between the sheets of a folded piece of parchment paper. Place a foil transfer sheet onto the toner sheet, with the colored side up and the silver side down. Run this sandwich through your laminator to heat set the foil. For the gift bag die that I am using, you will need two pieces of foiled toner sheet for each gift bag.
Die-cut the gift bag die two times from the foiled paper. Bend along all the crease lines. Add 1/8″ strips of Super Tape to the side flaps to close and attach the two panels together. Fold up the bottom flaps, and secure them in place with more Super Tape.
Die-cut a stitched oval from white cardstock. Using a scene maker stencil, stencil clouds onto the die cut using Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink. Use Therm O Web’s Purple Tape to keep everything in place with stenciling.
Add strips of the new 1/16″ foam tape roll to the backside of the oval die cut and the images you wish you use. Add the die cuts to the center of the bag.
Stamp and die cut a sentiment label. In the areas where your die cuts will overlap, use both foam tape and Ultra Bond liquid adhesive to keep everything at an even level.
Die-cut a tag from the leftover foiled toner sheet, and embellish with additional Laura Kelly images. ENJOY!!
